Business and Operations Improvement

Often, the purpose of an EA is to enable improvement in business operations or information technology. This topic covers how to develop an EA to use it for analysis leading to improvement of business operations. Depending upon the EA, it could include incremental improvements or total reengineering of the business operations and associated technology. When an EA is maintained and implemented effectively, it can assist organizations in optimizing its interdependencies and interrelationships amongst its business operations and underlying IT (CIO Council, 2001).
