Supervision & Control

Managing an EA includes supervising the personnel resources assigned to the EA program and maintaining control over the EA artifacts produced. The EA manager decomposes plans into fine-grained steps, assigns responsibilities to personnel, sets expectations, and monitors and controls the output of teams. A good EA manager must constantly adapt to unexpected events, and strikes a reasonable balance between cost, schedule and quality. Establishing an approach to supervision and control is critical to the success of the EA initiative.
