Drivers

Drivers are forces pushing some aspect of an organization in a specific direction. Drivers may come from legislation, policy, business competition, technology changes, cost changes, organizational restructuring and/or consolidation, or facility changes. Drivers may conflict, such as when budgets are declining while labor costs are increasing. Organizational restructuring can change responsibilities, management priorities, equipment, budgets, locations, services, products, or other aspects of the organization. Drivers are generally outside the control of enterprise architecture planners.

This topic area provides an EA practitioner access to guidance, case studies, and other references that help identify drivers to be considered and how to address and resolve them.
